My journey as a London Ambassador

Sanjay Morzaria with the Mayor of London Boris Johnson
The Mayor of London wants the Ambassadors to provide the best possible welcome for visitors to London.

The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are upon us. This is the biggest event this country, and London in particular, will host. Certainly in my lifetime. Apart from all the infrastructure that has been built, the planning and security, the games will need a huge army of volunteers.

Pages in this section are about my journey as a volunteer “Flying Squad” London Ambassador Manager.

About the London Ambassadors Programme

London Ambassadors are a team of volunteers that will play an active role in delivering a fantastic welcome to the millions of visitors during the Olympics and Paralympics Games.

Overview of Ambassador roles

To deliver the best possible customer service and visitor experience, the London Ambassadors have been organised in a number of roles, each with different responsibilities.

Our Pods during Games Time

The London Ambassadors will provide a first class visitor service during Games Time from four very distinctive Pods situated in 43 locations around London.

Live rehearsal during Diamond Jubilee pageant

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in London over the Bank Holiday weekend in June provided a perfect opportunity for London Ambassadors to test their training and equipment for Games time.

The Queen's visit to Richmond Park

London Ambassadors volunteered for The Queen’s visit to Richmond Park. This was used as a rehearsal for our roles during the forthcoming games in London.
