Online & Information Manager

I managed the Firm's global public website, client extranets and other related online information across their international network of offices in 43 countries.
In this role, I provided strategic direction, technical expertise and recommended web technologies to invest in. I led the requirements and tender process to implement a new CMS (Alterian ACM7) to the website. This meant that I was responsible for the project, overall management and implementation of the CMS (requirements, design, development, testing, delivery and moving to BAU).
As an international partnership firm, my effective relationship management, influencing and strong customer focus skills were vital to successfully delivering business objectives. My key responsibilities in this role were to:
- Recommend suitable solutions and best practice for websites and online technologies
- Demonstrate strong technical online skills such as web analytics, usability, e-development and build cycles, Web 2.0, and integrating e-marketing programmes with the website
- Manage projects so project data, plan, progress, issues, resolution, risks, financial control, task completion, lessons learned, and variances are controlled correctly
- Migrate the global webiste to a new hosting environment using agile project management techniques
- Supervise agencies, vendors and other third party suppliers
- Direct the content delivery to websites and e-commerce solutions
- Be a centre of excellence for all digital activity
- Liaise with various partners in 43 countries to identify and help define their needs for content and functionality
- Manage conflicting priorities and customer expectations
- Set up a social media policy using Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs and YouTube
- Aid to develop website from a strategic perspective
- Ensure relevant web metrics tracking is set-up and fully functional
- Work with in-house creative team to ensure compliance with brand standards
- Make sure content is written for the web and optimised for SEO
- Ensure compliance with W3C accessibility, data privacy policy and Solicitors Regulation Authority guidelines
- Prepare monthly reports, reviews and updates for the Board
- Arrange and monitor the team budget
- Understand the customer journey, user experience, information architecture and taxonomy
